"CITY2CITY" compiles 10 artists from 9 different countries, all working on urban subjects. Available for the first time on DVD, all of these films offer a new way of appreciating the aesthetics of our global cities as they are perceived by todayís cutting edge video artists and experimental filmmakers.

Composé de films inédits à ce jour, le programme propose un nouveau regard sur l'esthétique de la ville et sa perception artistique dans le domaine de l'art vidéo et du cinéma expérimental.

These films will take you, beyond borders, to discover urban subcultures under a new light. Urban Visons includes both the extraordinary as well as the perfectly ordinary. It's about everyday life, real and unreal, as seen through the eyes of independent and cutting-edge film-makers with a dedication to form, rhythm, and color. These works are witness to a new wave of film as art without limits of creativity and style and free of technical and financial constraints. Urban Visions proves that now just like the big city, anything is possible.

Ces films vous guideront au-delà des frontières pour vous faire découvrir des cultures urbaines sous un angle nouveau. Visions Urbaines est une savante mise en scène de la banalité et de l'exceptionnel qui constituent notre quotidien. A travers le regard de réalisateurs contemporains la banalité se révèle dans ses formes, ses rythmes, ses couleurs. Ces créations témoignent d'une recherche artistique portant aussi bien sur l'image et le montage que sur la bande sonore, et hors des contraintes techniques et financières habituelles. Visions Urbaines démontre que, tout comme dans nos grandes villes, tout est possible.

Lowave is an independent film label founded in 2002 to promote experimental film and contemporary video art and make them accessible beyond the film festival and gallery circuit. Our catalogue features artists with varied backgrounds working with different techniques (film and digital video) and multiple modes of expression, and ranges from abstract experimental films to militant documentaries. Alongside historic figures such as Maurice Lemaître (a French Lettrist artist and filmmaker), Takahiko Limura (a Japanese video pioneer), and Helga Fanderl (a German master of super-8), Lowave has put forward some of the most important young artists from around the world, including from China, USA, Iraq, Finland, Lebanon, Morocco and Palestine.

Label de films indépendants né en 2002, Lowave promeut le cinéma expérimental et l'art vidéo contemporain pour les rendre plus accessibles au-delà du réseau des galeries et des festivals. Le catalogue rassemble des artistes d'horizons variés qui travaillent sur différents supports (film, vidéo numérique) et développent divers modes d'expression. Leurs œuvres vont du film expérimental abstrait au documentaire militant. Lowave a su dénicher certains jeunes artistes parmi les plus prometteurs des quatre coins du monde (Chine, Etats-Unis, Irak, Finlande, Liban, Maroc, Palestine) et leur faire côtoyer díillustres personnalités comme Maurice Lemaître (artiste lettriste français et cinéaste),Takahiko Limura (pionnier japonais de la vidéo) et Helga Fanderl (virtuose du super-8).
